October 5, 2007 - Chicago (IL): The US office products industry surpassed all expectations last night when it was revealed that a massive $7.2 million was raised in support of the City of Hope. This year's campaign was rounded with a spectacular gala dinner at the Chicago Hilton attended by almost 1,000 industry professionals. The campaign, the most successful ever conducted by the National Office Products Council for City of Hope, raised the huge sum for the Duarte, California-based medical research facility as it strives to rid the world of cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The honoree for the evening and recipient of this year's Spirit of Life award was Avery Dennison senior vice president, Jess Beim, probably the single most respected executive within the US industry. Beim joins an illustrious group of OP leaders to be receive the accolade, many of whom returned to the industry last night in celebration of the OP sector's 25th anniversary supporting the City of Hope. Over the last quarter of a century the OP industry has raised a staggering $62 million to help fund the City of Hope cause. SourceOne Office Products has supported the efforts of the City of Hope for the last 7 years and are proud of the many achievements they have made, we salute Jess Beim of Avery Dennison and look forward to continue success for all involved in this wonderful life saving Endeavour. |
